Classifying Animals – Fish

Sharks are the biggest type of fish! Observe the gills at the side of their heads and type of scales their bodies are covered in which help them to swim at high speeds.

The gills of a fish play an important role in keeping fish alive. They allow the fish to take in dissolved oxygen in the water to breathe and must be kept clean!

Male fighting fish form a cluster of small bubbles on the water surface. When the female fighting fish releases eggs., the male swiftly captures the eggs in its mouth and places them securely into the bubble nest where the eggs have a rich supply of oxygen.
